Donald J. Trump uses the metaphor of a swamp, a politically-disease ridden cesspool, to describe Washington DC.  Australia, though, is in many respects worse, and the appropriate metaphor for us is a desert, waterless, lacking in the life of freedom.

Of course there is section 18 C, the very latest farce being that Australia’s Grand Mufti, Ibrahim Abu Mohammed (Grand Mufti since 2011), wants Muslims to be given the same protection as other ethnic groups under section 18 C of the Racial Discrimination Act: http://www.news.com.au/national/politics/grand-mufti-warns-against-watering-down-hate-speech-laws/news-story/c7125f5beeeae8a48922692568f68e04.  But they are! Well, what he wants is an amendment to the Act to create what one Liberal senator has called a “national blasphemy law” to prohibit “religious vilification” of Muslims and all religions. Radical Islamists in the West have also been pushing for global blasphemy laws to suppress criticism of Islam. (The Australian, January 20, 2017, p. 13)

President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration speech was magnificent. He basically said that the power mad Washington DC elites had rule like tyrants for too long, and now it ends. It was a speech that brought tears to any patriot’s eye. Bill Clinton, on the stage with the rest of the folk Trump was attacking was looking with lust at Trump’s daughter Ivanka (you can see it on YouTube), and Obama looked like he had been kicked in the guts. He had.

There seems to be even a slight awareness that a profound revolution against globalist ideology is occurring. Here are some interesting words from someone who needs no introduction to this site,  Greg Sheridan, The Australian’s foreign editor, “Trump’s Triumph Explained: Xi and Obama Fuel America’s Revolt,” The Australian, January 19, 2017, p. 1.
“Two presidents, China’s Xi Jinping and America’s Barack Obama, have taken actions which do much to explain why Donald Trump is triumphant.
Xi Jinping, at the World Economic Forum at Davos no less, posed as the champion of globalisation, even preaching against protectionism and populism.
“Just blaming economic globalisation for the world’s problems is inconsistent with reality, and will not help solve them,” he said.
You have to admire Xi’s chutzpah. If every nation in the world practised globalisation in the way the Chinese government does, it would be a world of constant chaos and near inevitable conflict.

The fight is one. Malcolm Turnbull, Australia’s great “Big Australia”, mass migration globalist, is in love with the TPP. There is no problem about the loss of Australian legal sovereignty or jobs. He is, above all else, a globalist.
But Bill Shorten has smelt the battle smoke in the wind from the Trump triumph and has joined with the unions and the Greens in opposing it. Turnbull was outraged and called the Opposition leader a “shallow populist.” Well, it is a start. Worst, he said that Shorten had betrayed the interests of Australian “families!” (The Australian, January 17, 2017, p. 1)

What Australian “families’ do you think he is referring to? Those working class families that will be destroyed by waves of cheap migrant labour, even vaster than the swamping that is now occurring? Surely not. He must be thinking of the capitalist elite families of the upper crust of Australia who benefit now from mass migration and its demographic replacement of Anglo-Australia and stand to benefit more from globalist deals like the TPP. The big end of town.
Clearly what Australia needs is an alternative nationalist leader many orders of magnitude stronger than Trump to clear up over 70 years of civilisational decline.

Although conservatives typically look at the rise of women’s liberation and feminism from the 1960s onwards in terms of social harms such as the destruction of the traditional family, there are other evils. One, is the increasing support for liberal policies such as welfarism, where women’s natural maternal instincts are manipulated by the elites to support policies not in their interest.
John R. Lott and Lawrence W. Kenny, “Did Women’s Suffrage Change the Size and Scope of Government,” Journal of Political Economy, vol. 107, 1999, pp. 1163-1198, reach the following conclusion based on research in the United States:

“This paper examines the growth of government during this century as a result of giving women the right to vote. Using cross-sectional time-series data for 1870-1940, we examine state government expenditures and revenue as well as voting by U.S. House and Senate state delegations and the passage of a wide range of different state laws. Suffrage coincided with immediate increases in state government expenditures and revenue and more liberal voting patterns for federal representatives, and these effects continued growing over time as more women took advantage of the franchise. Contrary to many recent suggestions, the gender gap is not something that has arisen since the 1970s, and it helps explain why American government started growing when it did.” (p. 1163)

Andrea Mason implies ('Annual debate is another step towards reconciliation', 25/1) that at present Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their cultures are not 'honoured, respected and valued' by Australians generally; but such is not the case. Her prescription for 'a true nation-to-nation relationship' with our so-called 'first peoples' is unjustified by past and present realities and can only create future division and disunity among Australians. She provides no reason at all why 'recognition' of these peoples needs to be enshrined in the Constitution, which is a document currently embracing in its essential language all contemporary and future Australians. The transition of human society on this continent from Stone Age cultures to a modern nation with up-to-date infrastructure involved some wrongdoing on both sides but now benefits both sides. Far from 'closing the distance between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians', Mason's policy would widen it.

Will the definite June 2016 decision of the British people to withdraw from the European Union be frustrated by legal chicanery or not? The answer is not yet clear ('May blow: Top court rejects Brexit appeal', 25/1). The claim made that the UK Supreme Court case 'was about the legal process not politics' is unconvincing: it was about the one in order to facilitate the other. The aim was to overturn Brexit.
It may be that 'MP's are not expected to vote against triggering Article 50'; but that vote has not yet been taken. What if a majority of MP's in fact use their 'invaluable expertise and experience' (as one prominent Remain supporter puts it) to reverse the Leave decision in Parliament? That is plainly the wish of those who brought this case. Let us hope, for the honour of the UK Parliament and its status as a truly representative body, that such does not happen.

Perhaps the elite are right in saying that the Australia of the past is finished. Don Watson, Paul Keating’s speechwriter had that “Australia” –  a multicultural, feminised post-Mabo minestrone – cannot be brought under a collective “national identity”: G. And that was back in the good old days of the ‘90s.

As much as one would hate to agree with him, perhaps he is right: things have gone too far and a grand divorce is in order.

Bernard Salt (“Global Cities Offer Us a Lesson on Population,” The Australian, December 1, 2016, p. 28) offers us a lesson in urban algebra, or comparative urban development. He compares various global cities with Melbourne and finds that Melbourne is almost a population desert.
New York contains 24 million residents; Manhattan Island has a population density of four times that of Melbourne and Paris, six times. Thus compared to America and European standards Australian cities have only a modest population density.

The sub-text here, no doubt is that Australia should become just as dense as America and European cities. All that however, ignores numerous factors, such as the ecological support base of such cities, such as water supply. New York has no such problem with water. As well, Manhattan and Paris can maintain the population levels that they support because they serve as concentrated business and cultural centres, supported by vast resources outside of their cities, constantly shipped and trucked in. The cities are highly artificial constructs.

As a very informative article by Claire Connelly states “homes are less affordable, jobs are less secure, a growing number of people are forced into part-time work, and more and more people are struggling to pay their bills and must therefore cope with a greater burden of debt.” (ABC News, December 8, 2016)
Around 15 percent of willing labourers are not working, all while negative economic growth is occurring, with the ABS stating that a 0.5 percent contraction in the seasonally-adjusted GDP growth for the September quarter had occurred. The article observes: “There has been a deliberate attack on worker’s capacity to gain wages – it is not an accident that real wages are flat.”

Meanwhile, during the last six years, the rich have gotten richer and the poor, vastly poorer, according to the Swiss bank Suisse’s 2016 review of the world’s wealth. Dr Peter Abelson, the Mayor of Mosman, is perfectly entitled to decline an invitation to attend a Jewish function because of his deep concern about Israeli occupation of the West Bank ('Rabbi pans mayor's anti-Israel "boycott"', 16/1). He is seeking to send a message to Israel and its supporters and has the right to do so. His action does not necessarily mean that he is failing to represent Jews who live in Mosman: that responsibility does not require him to attend this particular function or to be silent about Middle Eastern events.

He is not 'holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel' - some Jews, yes, but not all Jews. Nor are the pronouncements of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance to be taken as Holy Writ. That body appears to be too ready to censor political opinions it feels to be against certain Jewish interests.

An article on the eve of Christmas Eve by Tim Montgomerie (“Western Elites Would Do Well to Understand the Masses’ Religiosity,” The Australian, December 23, 2016, p. 8), he points out that one of the mistakes made by Hillary Clinton was to assume that Christians would reject Donald Trump. But Trump promised Christians judges who would oppose abortion rights and uphold religious freedom.

Montgomerie goes on to say that journalists, primarily non-religious, have little knowledge about religion and tend to be dismissive of it. Perhaps they should all read a little booklet by psychologist Ronald Conway, On the Need for Religion in a Secular Society (1989).
Conway argues that religion, especially Christianity, is not about social work and worldly behaviour. Religion is about attitudes towards God and the divine, and how man should live in the light of such questions.

My dear, at first I thought that they were referring to us, but then I remembered that the establishment policy is to keep quiet and ignore us, and let us just wither away… well at least me at my advanced old age.

One of the central figures who began the present regime of politically correct morality is Martin Luther King, and Martin Luther King Day is, in the United States, on the third Monday in January each year here in the United States, an honour bestowed upon no other American. The media go into a frenzy of adulation for “Dr” King. Does he deserve this?

First, his name is Michael King. King was the son of a black preacher known as “Daddy King.” In 1935 Daddy King decided to name himself after the Protestant reformer Martin Luther, and he asked his congregation to refer to his son as “Martin Luther King Jr.” However, the name change was never legalised and there is no evidence that King was ever bothered by this.

Black athletic superiority, over Whites and Asians, has been widely supported by those believing that racial differences are real: including White racialists and the pro-Black movement.
Eighty per cent of American pro-basketball players are Black and two thirds of American pro-footballers. So are most heavy weight American boxers (but not lighter weights). The marathon has been dominated by East Africans.

All true and undeniable. The racial theory then goes on to claim that Blacks dominate these sports because of a higher ratio of fast twitch to slow twitch muscle fibers. In any case, Blacks, they say, have the genetic edge – they are just too good for the wore-out old White man.

Look closely at the faces and eyes of Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn as they are forced to listen to Meryl Streep deliver an anti-Trump, pro-political correctness speech. These men radiate the look of disgust and rebellion, not because Trump is anything sacred, but because Streep and her ilk are attacking White Western civilisation, the people and culture which has allowed her to live beyond the imagination of even the richest queens of the past.

Streep, Madonna and Hillary Clinton etc. etc. would not last long if they had to face a world outside of the comfort zone of the urban consumerist wombs that they now live in.
