One such victim of this type of crime was Rhyhiem Barton, a 17-year-old boy who was shot in South London last year. Barton was involved in a mentorship programme and his mentor, Sayce Holmes-Lewis, told Sky News: “Is there a literal scoreboard? Yes. People are keeping count of the attacks that each organisation is carrying out.” Mr Holmes-Lewis continued: “You stab a person in the head or the chest you get a certain number of points. You get varying points for the severity of the violent act. Young people’s reality seems to be very warped when it comes to violence. They think it is a game. Taking somebody out and killing somebody is now fun.”

     The proposed Adani mine has been wading through a green swamp of political obstacles for nine long years. Other coal optimists have struggled to develop coal in the Galilee Basin for over 40 years. Federal Labor, State Labor and the Greens have taken turns to man the anti-coal barricades. In these bad new days, before anyone can open a mine they need multiple approvals, each one providing opportunities for do-nothing activists to raise new hurdles at every hearing. The whole process of judicial judgements and reviews, enquiries, objections, hearings and re-hearings has been a gold mine for lawyers and barristers and a bottomless pit into which mine optimists throw money. Nine years ago, Labor Premier Anna Bligh declared Adani “a significant project for Queensland”. The Queensland Co-ordinator General gave Adani approval to proceed in 2014.

     The Federal Government also gave its approval to proceed in 2014 but that approval was set aside because of complaints by the Mackay Conservation Council, the Australian Conservation Foundation and others that the yakka skink, the ornamental snake, koalas, the waxy cabbage palm and the black throated finch would be disturbed. And of course the Great Barrier Reef, the coastal seagrass and inland ground water would be threatened. The ACF and the Greens have also cowed most Australian banks into denying finance to the Carmichael Project. Native title rights have been asserted by two groups, and Greenpeace and the Climate Council have run scare campaigns on Greenhouse gas emissions should Adani go ahead. Naturally the ABC gives all Adani opponents good air time.

     Having recovered from the election I am back on deck reporting on health and social issues. And, surely one of the most worrying symptoms of social angst is suicide, especially youth suicide which can be taken as a measure of social stress in a society, for if the young kill themselves in high numbers, something must be drastically wrong. He was also charged with the murders of Doris Gleason, 92, on October 29, 2016; Rosemary Curtis, 76, on January 17, 2018; and Mary Brooks on January 31, 2018. He has been charged with five other murders, but those identities have not been released. Chemirmir is also charged with three counts of attempted murder. He is being held in Dallas County Jail on $9million bond. He is also facing immigration-related charges for being in the U.S. unlawfully. Chemirmir, who worked as a nurse in his native Kenya, is at the center of an investigation into nearly 1,000 unexplained deaths in Texas, according to KRLD. He was arrested in March 2017 for allegedly smothering Harris with her pillow and stealing her jewelry box. In the midst of a big drought, Snowy Hydro water is being wasted to plug the daily gaps in wind/solar power production and also wasted on “environmental flows”. Water held in the Lake Eucumbene (the heart of the Snowy) is down to 24% and Hume Dam is just 14%.

     To placate green-leaning State Premiers the PM should also offer to underwrite a new wind farm in the Warringah (NSW) electorate, a giant battery for a green leafy suburb in Melbourne, and a program to restore sea water flushing of high salinity water for the Coorong/Lower Lakes at the mouth of the Murray River. A likely area for a new dam is along the Great Dividing Range in the Northern Rivers area with water caught on the Eastern side and water released on the western side of the Great Dividing Range; plus weirs along the Darling River. The new coal power station could quickly be built in the Surat/Bowen basin in Queensland, probably Kogan Creek. Or Liddell could be refurbished. The obvious first choice for the position of Power and Water Czar is ex PM Tony Abbott who understands the politics and realities of power generation and water supply and knows his way around the corridors in Canberra. For far too long Australia has placed added demand on water, power and food supplies by welcoming migrants, refugees and tourists while putting obstacles in front of all reliable power and water proposals. This foolishness must cease. To focus on the urgency of these two pieces of essential infrastructure the Power and Water Czar should be given power to negotiate options to acquire land and to over-ride the death-by-delay tactics of extremist environmental and anti-development groups for these two items of critical infrastructure.

     President Rump cannot control the massive influx of illegals at the US/Mexican border, a product of the Left/Democ-rats making an example of anyone even giving token lip service to regulating immigration. To The New York Times        My fellow countryman Waleed Aly has offered an insightful comment on the recent federal elections result, focusing on what he calls our tendency towards caution rather than any "right-wing" or "hard" conservatism in Australia's soul. What he omitted, however, was any reference to the enormous ideological struggle that has been going on here since the Whitlam (ALP) government took office at the end of 1972. There are those of us who are happy with our historical story of British colonisation, the transition to dominion status after federation and the continuation of our Christian sacred tradition and monarchical constitution. We are pleased to go on as part culturally of the Anglosphere. Many other Australians disagree. They do want big change. Away with the monarchy and the flag and any further hanging on to Britain's coat-tails, they cry! They have much more say in our national forums than do we conservatives. Equality rather than class stratification is their preference. Anything smacking of racism is anathema. The essential message of the very close result in these elections is that this intense struggle between the adherents of two different Australias will continue and that the end result is still in doubt.

To The Age        My feeling after my Christian meeting for worship on Sunday was different from that of Margaret Tonkin (21/5). She felt despair, but I felt hope. This was not because I lack concern for the future of the planet or have no sympathy for the poor and for refugees. Perhaps there is other truth that needs to be spoken to power than she realises. My hope is based on the conviction that Australia dodged a bullet on Saturday. Sufficient electors realised that our nation was in danger of having its essential political order drastically changed for the worse. We feel that sacred tradition and our cultural inheritance have now more chance of being protected than would have been the case if Labor had won. This will benefit everyone.

Judge Anthony Potter ordered him to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and to take part in a rehabilitation activity for up to 30 days.”

     The ALP-Greens-ABC-GetUp-Turnbull-CFMEU-Fairfax alliance ran hard in Australia’s recent climate alarm election - they lost. So let us see no more anti-coal motorcades, hear no more climate propaganda and replace Pied Piper Street Processions with hard science education. The new government must also stop blatant promotion of green energy with targets, subsidies and carbon taxes, and focus on infrastructure catch-up. Forecasts of doom are frequent, and they fail just as frequently. Climate is always changing. Global cooling always follows global warming. Government policies that assume continuous global warming expose our society and economy to huge risks for no measurable benefits when that forecast proves disastrously wrong. Despite the election win, there is no room to relax.
